Honoring the Divine Feminine on World Poetry Day

by Chantell Van Erbé

March 21st is World Poetry Day, and as we celebrate International Women’s Month, I feel especially called to share a personal piece that emerged from the deep, sacred current of feminine energy.

This poem, In Praise of Shakti, honors the inner fire, sensuality, and sovereignty of womanhood — both mortal and eternal. It is a call to remember the divinity within us — the velvet strength, the cosmic lineage, the jeweled knowing.

In a world that often forgets the sacredness of the feminine, poetry becomes a vessel to remember.

In Praise of Shakti

Velvet cool skin cannot conceal

the fire, my Beam-Blue Honey.

Come close to my jeweled ear.

Speak in lavish, luxurious tones

of my noble role.

Tell me Ethereal Dear

that I’m heir to The Throne

in your embellished light.

Bright baubles and sweet-scented temper.

Remind me of The Day you strung a strand

of Everlasting Shiva Bones

around the Sun and Moon

to prove

what I already knew.
