Women’s History Month & My Exhibition with NAWA at Vanda Gallery
by Chantell Van Erbé.
March is here, and with it comes Women’s History Month—a time to honor the resilience, achievements, and creativity of women throughout history. As an artist, this month holds a special significance for me, and I couldn’t think of a better way to begin than by announcing my participation in Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories, an exhibition presented by the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) at Vanda Gallery in New Rochelle, NY.
This exhibition, running from March 1 – 29, 2025, brings together the voices of women artists through their work. Each piece in the show speaks to the power of storytelling—how women, across time and cultures, have used their voices, art, and creativity to shape narratives that inspire, challenge, and move us forward.
I’m honored to have my artwork, Escape from Samsara, included in this show. This piece holds deep personal meaning, exploring themes of transformation, liberation, and the cyclical nature of existence. As an artist, I often find myself drawn to the unseen forces that shape our lives—whether spiritual, emotional, or cultural—and Escape from Samsara is a reflection of that ongoing exploration.

Being part of a NAWA exhibition during Women’s History Month feels especially meaningful. NAWA, founded in 1889, has long championed the recognition of women artists in an art world that has historically overlooked them. To exhibit alongside such talented women, each with her own unique perspective and story to tell, is an honor.
This is just the beginning of the conversation. Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing more about my work, the inspirations behind my artistic journey, and the importance of celebrating women’s voices in art. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll stop by Vanda Gallery to see the show in person.
Let’s celebrate the power of storytelling, the impact of art, and the voices of women—past, present, and future.
